Quick answer
Radiant Health Elite and Pause infrared saunas are part of an official CPSC recall announced September 17, 2026, because of a potential fire risk from a possible short-circuit condition.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada have approved a free in-home repair. Radiant Health says authorized installers will put in new circuit boards, with a new fuse connected to every heater panel.
The official instruction for affected owners is clear:
Do not use your sauna until the approved remedy has been installed.
Owners enroll for the repair through Sauna360 at sauna360.com/product-recall-infrared-saunas-2026. Until an authorized technician has completed it, do not use the sauna.
Do not attempt your own inspection or repair.

My current position on Radiant Health
I want to remove any possible ambiguity:
My buying recommendation for Radiant Health remains on hold while I evaluate the approved repair and until normal delivery resumes.
This is not necessarily a permanent reversal of my opinion about Radiant Health.
I have owned, tested, used, and recommended Radiant Health saunas since 2019. I own several of them. My friends and family own them, and many people in our infrared sauna community purchased one, at least in part, because I recommended it.
I take that responsibility seriously.
My previous recommendations reflected years of ownership, testing, and the information available before the stop-use notification was issued. A responsible recommendation must reflect the situation today, not the situation that existed when an older review was recorded.
Is there an official Radiant Health CPSC recall?
Yes. The CPSC announced the Sauna360 recall on September 17, 2026 (recall number 26-784). It covers about 41,580 infrared saunas, hybrid infrared saunas and infrared kits in the United States, plus about 6,758 in Canada, sold from May 2013 through July 2026.
The recalled Radiant Health models are the Elite series (E-1H, E-2H, E-2.5H, E-3H, E-4H, EC-3H and EC-4H) and the Pause series (P-1H, P-2H, P-2.5H and P-3H, plus the -CA versions). The recall also covers other Sauna360 products.
The CPSC reports 67 incidents of overheating, melting, charring or burning, and no injuries.
The CPSC instruction is to stop using the sauna immediately and contact Sauna360 to schedule a free in-home repair from a professional installer. Read the CPSC recall notice.
I will keep updating this page as the repair rolls out.
Which Radiant Health saunas are affected?
Radiant Health says the recall applies to all Elite and Pause infrared saunas supplied by Sauna360 and shipped before August 1, 2026.
Radiant Health’s Shine red-light products are not included in the safety notice.
The CPSC lists the recalled saunas as sold from May 2013 through July 2026.
Owners should still contact Sauna360 to confirm whether a particular sauna is included rather than relying on a general article.
If you believe your sauna is included but have not been contacted, gather the following information:
- Sauna serial number
- Order number or proof of purchase, if available
- Current installation address
- Current telephone number and email address
- Model name and approximate purchase date
Radiant Health says the serial number is located on the floor beneath the bench.
The company also says the remedy is connected to the affected product rather than the original purchaser. If you purchased your sauna secondhand, contact Sauna360 to register your ownership information and verify whether your sauna is included.
What should affected Radiant Health owners do now?
If your sauna is included in the recall:
- Stop using it until the approved remedy has been installed.
- Do not disassemble the sauna.
- Do not attempt your own repair or electrical modification.
- Locate and record the sauna’s serial number.
- Save your receipt, order information, and company emails.
- Contact Sauna360 if you have moved or purchased the sauna secondhand.
- Enroll for the free repair at sauna360.com/product-recall-infrared-saunas-2026 or call Sauna360 at 866-936-5962.
- Document any unusual odor, discoloration, excessive heat, smoke, or visible damage.
- Contact emergency services first if you believe there is an immediate fire hazard.
The stop-use instruction also applies to affected saunas installed in commercial or shared settings, including spas, gyms, wellness centers, studios, clinics, and rental properties.
Do you need to unplug the sauna?
The current Radiant Health FAQ says affected owners should stop using their saunas but do not ordinarily need to unplug, disconnect, or remove them from their homes.
However, if you notice unusual heat, a burning smell, smoke, discoloration, or other signs of overheating, stop using the sauna immediately.
Radiant Health advises disconnecting the power if you can do so safely. If you believe there is an immediate hazard, contact local emergency services first.
Questions concerning your particular sauna or electrical installation should be directed to Sauna360.
What is the potential safety problem?
The official notice describes the concern as:
A potential fire risk due to a possible short-circuit condition.
That identifies the general category of concern, but it does not provide enough technical detail for an independent examination.
The public information available to me does not identify the exact component involved or fully explain the electrical failure mode.
I do not currently know whether the condition involves:
- A connector
- Internal wiring
- A heater-panel component
- Insulation
- A control component
- A manufacturing variation
- Another electrical component
The CPSC recall notice adds that the infrared panels can short circuit and overheat. I have not seen a public engineering analysis, detailed incident report, or failure photographs that would allow me to determine precisely what is happening.
That is why I am not taking one of my saunas apart right now.
Without knowing what component or condition to examine, disassembly would be guesswork. It could also damage the sauna, create another safety problem, or interfere with the approved repair process.
I strongly recommend that owners not open, modify, or attempt to repair their saunas themselves.
What is the Radiant Health sauna repair?
Radiant Health says authorized installers will put in new circuit boards on every sauna, with a new fuse connected to every heater panel.
According to the company’s current FAQ:
- The remedy will be provided at no cost
- Owners will not need to ship or move their saunas
- A qualified service provider will perform the work on-site
- Installation is expected to take less than one hour per sauna
- The CPSC and Health Canada approved the remedy on September 17, 2026
These details explain the service process, but they do not yet give me enough information to independently evaluate the repaired configuration.
I would still like to know:
- What specific condition the new circuit boards and fuses protect against
- Where the new components are installed
- How it interrupts power
- Whether it protects individual heaters or the entire sauna
- What testing validates its operation
- Whether the underlying short-circuit condition is also being corrected
- Whether the repaired configuration will receive updated certification
- Whether the same enhancement will be installed in every affected model
I will add answers here as I learn them.
When will repairs begin?
Enrollment opened on September 17, 2026, when the recall was announced. Owners schedule the in-home repair through Sauna360.
Radiant Health says the repair typically takes under an hour per sauna.
The time it takes to reach every owner may still depend on:
- Availability of repair components
- Number of affected saunas
- Number and location of qualified service technicians
- Geographic location of each owner
- Access to the installed sauna
- Commercial versus residential installations
- Local scheduling demand
Owners should be cautious about treating a general estimate as a guaranteed individual repair date.
Have any injuries been reported?
Radiant Health’s current FAQ states that it is not aware of any reported injuries related to this issue.
The CPSC recall notice reports 67 incidents of overheating, melting, charring or burning, and no injuries.
The absence of reported injuries is not a reason to disregard the stop-use instruction. A potential short circuit and fire risk should be taken seriously.
Can you still order a new Radiant Health sauna?
The status of new orders and deliveries has changed during this process.
Radiant Health says new orders will ship after the additional safety enhancement has been completed, and that delivery will take approximately six to eight weeks once shipping resumes.
Radiant Health says newly shipped saunas will include the additional safety enhancement before delivery.
An estimated timeline is not the same as a guaranteed delivery date.
Anyone facing a construction, contractor, commercial-opening, or business deadline should confirm the following directly with Radiant Health before making a decision:
- Current payment requirements
- Whether the order is a purchase, reservation, or waitlist request
- Estimated shipment date
- Whether the safety enhancement is installed before shipment
- Cancellation and refund terms
- Electrical requirements
- Exact exterior dimensions
- Installation and ceiling-clearance requirements
Again, my buying recommendation remains on hold while I evaluate the approved repair and until normal delivery resumes.
Choosing to wait for more information is not the same as recommending a purchase.
Why are my older Radiant Health recommendations still online?
My YouTube channel contains nearly 2,000 videos created over many years.
Some older videos, articles, descriptions, and buying guides naturally contain Radiant Health recommendations made before this stop-use notification existed.
Those recommendations reflected my experience and the information available when the content was produced. They should not be interpreted as current advice to purchase or use an affected sauna despite the stop-use notification.
We are working through years of content to update:
- Video descriptions
- Pinned comments
- Buying guides
- Product links
- Recommended-sauna pages
- Blog articles
- Social-media posts
That process cannot be completed overnight.
If you encounter an older Radiant Health recommendation from me, please understand that it is historical content. It does not override the active safety notice or the current position stated on this page.
What have I personally observed since 2019?
I have owned and heavily used multiple Radiant Health saunas since 2019.
My friends and family own them. Our infrared sauna Facebook community includes nearly 50,000 people, including thousands of Radiant Health owners.
During that time, I have not personally observed a broad pattern of unexplained heater-panel failures, electrical problems, or injuries that would allow me to explain the scope of this notice.
That does not mean the potential risk is not real.
It only means I do not have enough verified information to explain why such a broad stop-use notification was issued. Anything more specific from me right now would be speculation.
A stop-use instruction involving a potential electrical short and fire risk needs to be taken seriously regardless of anyone’s previous experience with the product.
What would need to happen before I recommend Radiant Health again?
This is not necessarily a permanent removal from my recommendations.
Before returning Radiant Health to my current buying guides, I would want to see:
- Publication of the official CPSC recall notice and approval of the remedy (both completed September 17, 2026)
- A clear public explanation of the condition and repair
- Supporting testing or certification for the repaired configuration
- The remedy installed on my own affected saunas
- An opportunity to inspect and independently evaluate the repair
- Enough confidence for me to personally resume using my saunas
- Normal ordering and dependable shipping restored
- Clear and consistent communication with affected owners
If those things happen, I can evaluate the repaired products based on evidence rather than assurances or speculation.
I hope Sauna360 and Radiant Health complete this process quickly and successfully. I would much rather see owners made whole and able to use their saunas again than continue discussing uncertainty and replacements.
What if you cannot wait?
Some owners and prospective buyers have no firm deadline and can wait for the repair and for normal delivery to resume.
Other people are:
- Finishing a time-sensitive renovation
- Working around a contractor’s schedule
- Opening a wellness business
- Losing revenue from an unusable commercial sauna
- Replacing an older or discontinued model
- Trying to restore access to infrared heat
If you need an operational sauna within a dependable timeframe, I created a separate resource explaining the alternatives I would currently investigate:
Radiant Health Sauna Alternatives: What I’d Compare by Size and Budget
The complete video comparison is also available here:
The alternatives discussion should not be interpreted as advice for an affected owner to ignore the stop-use instruction. It is intended for people who need another sauna and cannot leave their plans open-ended.
My video explaining the Radiant Health stop-use notice
I recorded this video before the CPSC recall was announced. It explains what the company had confirmed at the time, what was still unknown, and why I could not independently inspect the relevant component:
